Research Center for Women and Girls
The grand opening of the Research Center for Women and Girls gave us the opportunity to highlight Alverno College students who are making strides in their educations and their lives. One student, Jessica De Santis, is helping women close the achievement gap in science and math with her work as a chemistry major. What's in a name? That which we shall call Lacey Green
On Feb. 20, 2010, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Jim Stingl highlighted Alverno College student Lacey Green.
As Stingl puts it, "Lacey Green discovered by accident - by Google actually - that there's a village in southern England named Lacey Green. So the 24-year-old decided to pay a visit. And her British hosts are rolling out the red carpet."
Lacey traveled to her namesake village, bringing back a wealth of stories and information, and was even profiled by local London media.
